We were engaged by the City of Montgomery to replace the bridge culvert at the junction of South Decatur Street and Winnie Street. This culvert had been in place since the early 90’s. We provided construction engineering and inspections associated with the replacement. Specifically, construction material testing (CMT) services, geotechnical engineering support, and observation and monitoring during foundation construction.
Larry E. Speaks & Associates, Inc. was initially engaged to help with the location and acquisition of feasible land and/or buildings for each school and later engaged to provide civil engineering design services. The feasibility study led to the acquisition of 2 empty retail spaces and adjacent parking lots and land at the previously shuttered Montgomery Mall.
Larry E. Speaks & Associates, Inc. was engaged to help redevelop the Gateway Cooperative District off Cobbs Ford Road for the City of Millbrook. The city required that improvements be made to I-65 Service Road, Cobb’s Ford Road, Market Street and Commerce Street as plans were being made to build the new Springhill Suites Hotel. We were involved with the redevelopment process from the beginning, offering planning and design services to relocate the intersection of Cobbs Ford Road and I-65 Service Road and improve existing structures.
Larry E. Speaks & Associates, Inc. has played a big role in the development of Camp McDowell. The camp, located in Nauvoo, Alabama, hosts thousands of visitors per year ranging from summer camps, retreats, family gatherings, conference groups, weddings, and other special events. We have offered land planning and development, as well as site design, for many areas found at McDowell. The most recent development, Bethany Village, is the largest development seen in camp history. Bethany almost doubled the size of camp and is universally accessible with lodges, cabins, a large dining hall, a lake and much more.
Larry E. Speaks & Associates, Inc. has a team of experienced staff able to design and manage the construction and/or improvement of water distribution and storage systems. Loachapoka Water Authority: Larry E. Speaks & Associates, Inc. was asked to manage the improvement process of a water tank for the Loachapoka Water Authority. Services included cost estimating and management of submittals and approvals.
Quint-Mar Water Authority: Quint-Mar Water Authority engaged Larry E. Speaks & Associates, Inc. to make improvements to two of their water storage tanks, one in Berea and one in High Pines. We offered cost estimating and management services in order to recoat both tanks.

The roundabout was improved in 2006 to return the square back to similar conditions found in the 1800’s.
